Ogliastra has spectacular mountain and marine scenery in its territory:
the land drops into the sea forming many of the most beautiful coastlines of the Mediterranean in a series of marvellous breathtaking cliffs and beaches like Cala Luna, Cala Goloritzè, Cala Mariolu, Orri and Cea just to name a few. In this wonderful natural setting where eagles can be seen in flight and which is surrounded by millenary oleaster trees, Baunei has dominated one of the most beautiful valleys on the island since the twelfth century. It is here that the Dommoso were conceived.
